Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
God came and took all my problems away on this x'mas party.During the christmas party, Pastor Serene shared to us about God's love for us. She also ask us to pray a little prayer with her. For receiving God's love into our life. Then during this time, God came into me and talk to me. As i have some worries that i have in me that i can't put it down. God came and touch me with His love. And i cried when saying this prayer. Then after that, Pastor Serene came up to me and pray for me. She pray for me to receive God's love. Then Ms tan came. As she saw i was crying, she asked me what happen. Then we went out of the room and talk. Then i told Ms Tan about the worries that bothers me. After hearing, she pray for me. For me to just put down all the worries that i have in my heart. And hand them all over to God. Then after that prayer, I felt very relief and fresh. As though i'm a new born child. As i felt very free from all the worries i have in me. This actually tell us that, if you have any problems which you can't handle by yourself. Give them all to God and you will feel very free and happy after that. If you think that your own prayer is not enough, then tell your cell leader. She/He will be very willing to help you. As he/she loves you.

Last Tuesday, I met up with my sec school buddies. 1 girl was C and another girl J. We met up as J was getting married in December. I was very excited as that was the first time we gathered since 10 years ago.
We had alot of fun updating one another and recalling all the things that we did together when we were in sec sch. It was fun being in a girls' school. We were very open in front of one another and really bo chap what guys thought of us.
J was a very smart girl. She was top in Pri Sch eith PSLE score of 285 (highest that yr was 292), and she topped the class every year even though she does not study very hard and always studies last minute. She also trained up to 3 times a week in squash as she was in the school team. Though she was very busy, she still made time to go out with the 2 of us. And we had alot of fun trying out bowling and karaoke together.
J was not a Christian then. She shared with us her testimony as to how she received Christ. She shared that as she was a very logical person, she was always very skeptical towards Christians and always asked them to stay away. But miraculously, her once anti-Christ dad requested her to bring him to church. That was when she started going church. But at that point in time, she will bring her text book along, even though it was very boring. She will read the book when the Pastor was preaching. Even after her father passed away accepting Christ, she still did not accept Him. It was until her current fiance invited her to his church that things started happening. Too many prayers were answered by God that made her believe that there really was a God that cared about her. And the love that the cell group she was visiting for 9 months touched her too.
God is amazing yeah... I was just reading 1 Corinthians 1:27 ' But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.'
Much as sometimes we think we are smart, God will just use the weakest things to shame us one day.

Hi all, Here's a summation of the teachings we had over the weekend.. thank God for such a fruitful weekend! May be a bit messy but I believe you can understand it yeah...
Friday: Happening: Serene's sharing at NUS cell
Genesis 13: Abram and Lot Separated and Abram let Lot chose the land that he wanted. Lot chose the seemingly better land, but the people there were evil. Lord gave grace to Abram's descendants who were the Amorites, but they were dealt with in the book of Joshua when God sent Joshua to deal with them. Lot was a righteous man though he may be confused because the land that he stayed in was evil. 1 of the purposes of the visitors: To affirm Sarah that nothing is too hard for the Lord. Always ask ourselves, "is anything too hard for the Lord?" We can intercede for the people and our land because of God's covenant with us. We must always remember the 1st principle that God is good whenever we are confused. What does commitment mean? It means that rain or shine i will be there When we hear something contradictory from someone else, always remember.. it's not the content that is important, but the message behind the content. Always ask ourselves what the person's motive is.
Saturday:
Happening: Small ones' cell group
What we did? Studied Matthew 1-3.
Matt 1 - Jesus was from the lineage of King David (2 Sam 7:5-16) - Girls are mentioned in the lineage too, God is interested in the lives of females too! - 14/14/14 generations. God's timing is perfect and 14 is the numerical value of David - Mary and Joseph were not married yet, just pledged to each other - Joseph was righteous because he was zealous in keeping the Jewish laws - Jesus means Save - In Mathew 1:22, OT prophesy was fulfilled Matt 2 - Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, to emphazie he's from tribe of Judah, the territory that produced line of Davidic kings - King Herod murdered his wife, sons and mother-in-law and was maker of many magnificent buildings - Magi were astrologers - Magi did not visit Jesus during the night of birth like the shepherds, but it was when Jesus became a child, about 1 year old. - Magi may not necessarily be made up of 3 wise men, but there were 3 gifts - Repentance is not only a change of mind, but a radical change in one's life as a whole that forsake sin and turn back to God Matt 3 - People who lived in desert ate insects and locusts - Ax is near = Judgement is near - winnowing fork - separates righteous (wheat) and wicked (chaff). 1st and 2nd coming is combined - Jesus' baptism was an example to followers, and also a sign of being set apart for God's work Sharing Emotional stability is a characteristic of a leader. Simple as it sounds, it's difficult to achieve, so we have to submit our feelings to God, always think of the good of the group you are leading. For 2007, Go deep, look far and ask BIG! Ethos-Emmanuel is our cluster's theme... What does it mean? Ethos - serving the nations, our tribe has a legacy in serving the nations since nus time Emmanual - God is with us. We have the inheritance, so claim it!
Sunday:
Happening: Service Be Acceptable - The Final Judgement
1. Reject indifference - Stop the Sin of Omission - Do not ignore that cleaner/road sweeper that we see! Be sensitive to the Lord's voice, and do not harden our hearts. 2. Reach out in identification - Seize every opportunity to do Good - Obey God's word, be wise and do the right things and not what we want to do. Seek God's will, and not our own will. 3. Rejoice in our inheritance - See what occupies God's heart Gal 6:9 ' Do not be weary of doing good, because God will cause us to reap a harvest at the right time'

Just want to share these verses:
"For nothing is impossible with God." (Luke 1:37)
"The Lord is good to those whose hope is in Him, to the one who seeks Him; " (Lamentations 3: 25)
When things don't seem to go your way, when there are obstacles in the path you choose, when your goal just gets blurred and you feel lost, tell yourself tat Nothing is impossible with God. We just hafta seek Him for guidance and He will lead us out of this maze in our lives.
We shldnt look at the obstacles or our imperfections but instead give thanks for what God has already given us. Because God doesnt see our imperfections but our heart.
So let God take charge of everything in our lives and place our hopes in Him. Because we know that in Him all things are possible! (:
God Bless! esther

Just came back from 48 Retreat! It was a very special retreat to me... nothing fancy or spectacular.. but it was a very good family time... most of the time, I will not talk much to those from other tribes, but this time round it was nice to have a chance to know one another better.
Something that I sense God is telling me through this retreat is - "I have claimed the victory for you in EVERY circumstance you are in!" As said in the bible, “But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him.” (2 Cor 2:14)
Many a times we may feel defeated or hopeless or stagnant in certain areas. However we should not feel this way cos God has won the victory for us already. If Jesus can overcome the darkest enemy - death, what else can He not overcome for us?
Very often we think that God is not real or God is not that powerful because of the setbacks in our lives. Under these circumstances, it's difficult for us to see our God as a victorious God. But always remember, "God's ways are higher than our ways" Do not enclose God in such a small box. I believe God has a purpose for these perceived setbacks in our lives. And each of this experience actually serves to lead us into victory! We need to learn to SEE FAR.
I do not want to belittle God anymore, I want to see His mighty power in every area of my life! And not only my life, but in each and every one of my precious spiritual daughters' life too!

Will be going for 48 advance tomorrow at Praise Heaven Bt Timah! Am looking forward to it! It's interesting how I look forward to going for advances and camps now. May this be a time where I will meet up with God! It will be a good time for me to reflect on 2006 and set goals for 2007. Did not really set goals for myself in 2006, think that's not a good thing. A person without goals is just like someone running blindly.
Now reading a book called Mere Christianity... very chim.. but I wanna read it.. cos I have heard many pple talking about it, even Pastor Khong. Ok gotta go now.. off to packing my bag, and some quick reflection!
